Introduction
SPARC began at a meeting to form an Amateur Radio Club on the Southern Mornington Peninsula held at Rosebud on the 4th June 1979. A second meeting was held at the home of Les Brown & the inaugural fees were set as $2.00 for Full Membership & $1.00 for Associates.
Following meetings were held at the Rosebud Primary School where the Club name was decided upon.
The Club moved its headquarters several times before settling into it's present location on 4th July 1983 at 111 Boneo Road, near the corner of Besgrove Street, Rosebud.
Meetings
The Club meets- Every Thursday morning from 930am to 1200 noon & Each fourth Friday of each month from 730pm to 1000 pm at our clubrooms near the cnr of Boneo Rd & Besgrove St Rosebud, adjacent to the Rosebud Community House
Club Activities & Events
SPARC members conduct a 2 metre net each Sunday morning at 9.30 a.m. via VK3RSP on Mt Martha, with an output frequency of 146.675 MHz & negative offset of 600 KHz. VK3RSP is sponsored & maintained by SPARC as a service to Amateur Radio operators in the area. SPARC also provides a free access IRLP Node, 6330 connected via this repeater.
A 70 cm net is conducted every Friday evening at 7.30 p.m. via VK3RPU on Arthur's Seat which has an output frequency of 439.825 MHz & a negative offset of 5MHz. |
